This application enhances IPS Community Suite 4's built-in tag and prefix system, providing custom styling and fine-grained control over prefixes, plus various settings, enhancements, and some helpful moderation tools. Prefixes are explicitly created through the Admin CP, and can be chosen from a separate prefix dropdown when creating a topic.
Among features of this plugin:
Define all prefixes manually through the Prefix Manager--even for open-tag systems.
Add, fix, merge, and remove tags in bulk through the Tag Manager.
Choose a prefix when posting any prefix-enabled content, separate from the tag input.
Add custom HTML formatting to your prefixes, allowing colors, images, and much more.
Limit prefixes by member group.
Limit where prefixes can be used.
Require a prefix in certain forums.
Add tags and prefixes to topics in bulk with Saved Actions or the Mass-Add tool.
Apply a prefix to topics imported from RSS.
Set a default prefix and tags for all new topics in a forum.
Override the tag mode setting on a per-forum basis.
Display topic prefixes in the page title, last post info, and elsewhere, if you want.
This resource is provided along with full rights to use and modify it for use on any number of sites you personally administrate, if purchased from the official IPS Marketplace.

Step 1: Install the Application
Open the Admin CP > System > Applications page. On the right is a button "Install". Click that button, then 'Browse...' and find the advancedtagsprefixes.tar file (included with this package). Select the file, then click 'Install'.
Step 2: Getting Started
To begin adding prefixes, go to Admin CP > Community > Advanced Tags & Prefixes > Manage Prefixes. You can enter an existing prefix as the 'title' to style all instances of that prefix across your website. Once you have entered your prefixes, you will need to edit each forum and add them to the 'Allowed Prefixes' list, under 'Posting Settings'.
There are also several settings for the application, located at Admin CP > Community > Advanced Tags & Prefixes > Settings.
To require users to enter a prefix in a specific forum, or to set default tags or prefixes, edit the forum and go to the bottom of the Posting Settings tab.
When upgrading IPS Community Suite: IPS should ensure the application remains intact. Check if there are any updates available for your applications and hooks whenever you upgrade.
When upgrading Advanced Tags & Prefixes:
Open the Admin CP > System > Applications page.
Next to the Advanced Tags & Prefixes row, open the menu (down arrow).
Click Upload a new version, then 'Browse...' and find the advancedtagsprefixes.tar file (included with this package). Select the file, then click 'Install'.
